Losing Weight Before Your Wedding Day

Pre-wedding concerns about weight may be because you fear not getting into your wedding gown or because you think that the wedding album will look better once you're slimmer. Thousands of brides before you have felt the same way and there is no proven shortcut into a having a perfect body within weeks. Be the happiest on your wedding day by getting into shape the right way.

Get full by drinking water. Work your way into smaller jeans by befriending the only item on the menu that has zero calories. Run around and do all your errands while carrying your own bottle of water or stopping for refreshments during shopping. One big problem during crash diets is lack of hydration. After a couple of weeks of skipping meals and ignoring meal time, the first pounds you think you got rid of was actually from water and not fats. Add a few drops of lemon or lime to a bottle of water to get some flavor into it.

The smaller, the better. We understand you; you are juggling a lot of things that need to be done for your wedding. But stress isn't enough of a reason to chomp on everything you can get your hands on. Apparently, small but frequent meals are better compared to having three full courses every day. Bring healthy energy bars when you go out and resist the urge to order oily burgers during the lunch hour.

Fruits and Vegetables are your friends. What a perfect way to avoid greasy and fattening food! You will be refreshed as to how much lighter you will feel each day once you've gotten used to this diet. Think fast food is inevitable? Offer to meet up with your vendors in organic cafes or salad bars. While grocery shopping, substitute fruit for all those snacks you munch on during midnight planning.

Don't go out celebrating just yet. Keep the alcohol and save it for the wedding day itself. You'll be surprised at how many calories one drink or one shot can contain. Drinking would also leave your body dehydrated the morning after, making you bloat the day after. As much as possible, steer away from beer or hard drinks and substitute them for non-alcoholic cocktails.

Get physical. This one might be too difficult if you are trying to juggle work and wedding planning each day. Under these circumstances, try to get as much activity as you can. Take a stroll during your break, choose the stairs over the elevator if you are not in a hurry or get into a stride rather that a normal walk while doing your shopping. The whole point is to get your heart beat up and break into a sweat for at least 30 minutes everyday. Studies have shown that by exercising, you increase the level of one specific hormone in your body responsible for making you feel happy. Stress, be gone!

Get support from everyone who's around you. Lighten up the burden by making your friends, family and even your hubby-to-be help out. Inform your bridesmaids about what you are trying to accomplish and soon you'll all share the diet plan until the wedding day arrives. Imagine how fun it would be to have weekly meet ups for yoga sessions and wedding planning at the same date!
